Dude, just stop. Can you think of one single other crime that makes sense for? Should someone who falsely accuses someone else of murder be charged with murder?
FUCK no.
They get charged with lying under oath, and maybe pay damages for defamation. Raping someone does not equal lying. They differ by several orders of magnitude. You’re not alone in feeling this way, I suspect, because this is one of the few social assymetries that isn’t in your favor, and you feel powerless against it. Well, it doesn’t feel good, does it? Having your agency wrested away by a more powerful force, shoving you into a world of hateful indignity and shame even though you’ve done nothing wrong?
…Right, that’s what I thought. Ok, now imagine that as not being a figure of speech, and fucking actually physically happening to you.
…Seriously. Cut it out.
In response to a Walter Sobchak meme asking, “Am I the only one around here that thinks girls falsely accuse sexual assault should be charged with an equally punishable crime?”

This past year marked the 25th Anniversary of the Graphics Interchange Format. From its humble beginnings at Netscape, to its current prominence in today’s Tumblr-driven culture, the GIF has come a long way, bb.
All this week, in honor of the Lifetime Achievement Award GIF inventor Steve Wilhite is receiving at this year’s Webbys we will be celebrating GIF WEEK. It’s like shark week but way, way better.
And FYI, it’s pronounced “jiff.” And that’s according to the guy who invented it. If you have any problems with that, take it up with this guy.
I’ll be cold and buried before I recognize the soft G.
We stand with Bugs.
Pro tip: They are both correct.

One of the most powerful pieces of art I’ve seen. My friend Brian Murphy’s goal of his portfolio is overall social awareness, and this piece emphasizes the horrors of violent video games; because they would never make a video game focus a school shooting, but killing a human is killing a human, no matter who.
I don’t have like, any followers, but this image deserves thousands of notes, I just want everyone to see it.
Killing a human is killing human. Video games, though, are nothing like killing a human. If they were, no one would play them.
